A woman frantically called police after her child was kidnapped from outside her West Yorkshire home last night. 
The child was strapped in the back of their mother's orange Nissan X-Trail when the suspect drove off from the house on South Parade, Ossett, West Yorkshire. 
Police responded immediately with a major search operation which included a helicopter from the National Police Air Service. 
The car was stolen at 4.23pm on Wednesday.

The X-Trail was abandoned about an hour later with the child still strapped in the back.

Officers rescued the child and returned it to its anxious parents. 
West Yorkshire Police confirmed they arrested a man on suspicion of car theft and child abduction. 
The 41-year-old suspect is currently been questioned by officers and remains in custody. 
Police are still appealing to the public for any information about the abduction and theft. 
They would especially like to speak to anyone who saw the orange X-Trail between 4.20pm and 5.30pm yesterday.  
Detective Inspector Sarah Degnan of Wakefield CID said: 'This was clearly a terrifying incident as it would be for any parent, and дополнительную информацию we are doing everything we can to identify those responsible.
'We are investigating this incident as a child abduction as well as a motor vehicle theft and I would appeal to anyone with information or who may have seen the vehicle in Ossett or surrounding areas during the times stated above to come forward.'
