The 2018 World Cup in Russia was supposed to be a sedate outing for the WAGs, who were under orders not to overshadow the action on the pitch. 
But  and 's £3million libel showdown has revealed that there was a lot more going on behind the scenes than met the eye, and the dramas helped to set the stage for the trial that's gripped the nation. 
Last week the High Court heard that Rebekah, 40, apparently helped to stage a paparazzi photo of the England WAGs gathered outside a swanky restaurant in St Petersburg, leaving 's partner Fern Hawkins 'upset'. 
Meanwhile, Rebekah made sure to take centre stage in the stands, going from contestant to being hailed 'Queen WAG' by the press - with branding experts claiming she was a 'natural fit' to take the crown from Coleen Rooney. 
Here, Femail reveals the antics of the 2018 tournament and how they gave an intriguing hint of what was to come in the epic battle of the WAGs.

In 2018, WAGs including Millie Savage, Gemma Acton, Megan Davison, Annabel Peyton, Fern Hawkins, Shannon Horlock, Annie Kilner and Lucia Loi descended on Russia to support their partners ahead of the World Cup. 
From the get go, they were heralded as a more low key bunch than their high octane predecessors, namely Vicotira Beckham and the then Cheryl Cole.
Tales of shopping trips, outfits and nights out in Baden Baden at the 2006 World Cup generated more headlines than the football, and so when the 2010 tournament rolled around, manager Fabio Capello controversially banned them - only allowing one day with their partners after each match.

The wives and girlfriends, plus other relatives, flew in and out of Nizhny Novgorod for England's game against Panama on by private charter jet, as their predecessors would have travelled - however their flights were shared England fan groups who are based in St Petersburg. 
And the paparazzi - which had pursued the previous set of WAGs in swathes -reportedly virtually ignored the 50-plus party of wives and girlfriends at the start of the tournament.

The paparazzi was reminiscent of the snaps taken of Victoria Beckham and her cohort of WAGs when the England WAGs descended on Baden-Baden in Germany in 2006 (pictured) 
The FA said they had organised the WAGs' itinerary, which meant sharing all their internal flights with England supporters, but the players' families would pay their own way.
Despite their low-key entrance, Rebekah had already made an impression on fans - reportedly having splashed out around £140,000 to watch husband Jamie play in the group stages of the competition. 
Boarding the flight at Luton airport with kids Megan, Taylor, Sofia and https://millionescorts.com/ Finley, Rebekah and the kids posed for photographers while donning England shirts and waving the national flag. 
In line with tradition, England football team wives and girlfriends were also banned from staying with their other halves during the tournament. 
Gareth Southgate had encouraged families to travel to Russia as a show of support for their partners - however they weren't allowed to stay at the same hotel as them, in the quiet town of Repino.
